We are entering the golden age of wellness tourism, where awareness and appreciation for health and longevity are at all time high and products and experiences are being developed to meet this growing demand. According to the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), wellness tourism will jump from $830.2 billion in 2023 to over $1.3 trillion in 2028. While the pandemic was a setback for the tourism industry, it galvanized the wellness movement. “Today, wellness’s influence can be seen in all aspects of travel, tourism and hospitality and it will continue to have a profound effect on how our sectors move toward greater sustainability,” said Debbie Flynn, FINN Partners’ Global Travel Practice Leader. This report identifies the trends shaping its future, from new generational cohorts changing how products will be made and marketed, to technology radically changing guest experiences, and emerging hot spots where wellness is taking center stage in placemaking strategies.
