Dr. Nicola Finley explores how workplace discrimination, stress and injustice can impact the wellbeing of women. Her special guest, Dominique Ben Dhaou, shares her experience as a corporate Human Resources executive in three different countries, reflecting on how the stress of having to constantly prove herself impacted her sleep, her weight and her wellbeing. Her story is an empowering message about reframing differences from being a barrier to an asset, illustrated in her book “Wake Up, Shake Up, Thrive.” Dr. Finley casts a wide lens on the topic, introducing research on related topics including unique aspects of sleep for women, sleep health disparities as well as the impact of workplace bias for women of color and LGBTQ women.
Dr. Finley sits on the GWS board of advisors and is a board-certified internal medicine physician and adjunct faculty member at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona. She hosts this webinar series, interviewing special guests and sharing her own personal stories about inclusion—or lack thereof—in wellness.
