Dear Friends & Colleagues,
Momentum is building for the 2024 Global Wellness Summit in St. Andrews Scotland this November 4-7, and we are excited to share with you a few highlights from our recent trip… and why this Summit is not to be missed!
1. The stunning beauty of the place. An almost mystical sense of history and culture come together, where the sea meets the seemingly endless sky. We were moved by the deep, undulating green of the legendary golf courses and the serenity of the golfers pushing their carts, quiet and reverent, walking in the footsteps of those famed players from decades past. (The Summit is offering several walking tours, among them a tour with Martin Palmer about the spiritual significance of St. Andrews.)
2. The incredible hospitality of the people of St. Andrews. The warmth of the Scottish people is legendary, and it is on full display in this university town. Everyone we met shared stories, offered helpful advice, and made us feel genuinely at home. You’ll hear more about hospitality as Jeremy Jauncey, who grew up not ten minutes from St. Andrews, discusses the wellness tourism boom with Greg O’Hara, the chairman of the WTTC.)
3. The food. Traditional Scottish cuisine is woven seamlessly into every menu, and you will find updated versions of favorites like Haggis, prepared for vegans! I captured proof that Susie tried the real haggis. (Look for an immersion in the cuisine of Scotland at the Summit’s opening reception, hosted by Kohler Co. and the Old Course Hotel.)
4. The spas. Each of the Summit hotels are offering extended spa hours for our delegates. No matter where you are staying, you are invited to access the newly reimagined Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Hotel, with integrated experiences designed by Klaf’s, now a Kohler company. Susie tried the foam steam bath Espuro and loved it because it was very social. (Discounted pricing is available for Summit delegates at the Old Course Hotel’s spa.)
5. The joy. There is a buoyancy we felt while visiting all the hotels, dinner venues and gala venue; it is contagious. The Scottish culture and pride will be evident at every event. Listen for bagpipes, look for Ceilidh dancing and Highland dancing, and be ready to participate. (The immersion in Scottish culture begins on November 4 and is part of every day, right up until we announce where we will go next year.)
You have by now received emails and announcements of speakers, presenters and special activities. The agenda is robust, varied and representative of the very latest thinking in the health and wellness industry. New research will be presented from the Global Wellness Institute (will that $5.6 trillion number go up?). Water, a central focus of this Summit, will be addressed in many ways—from the practices impacting wellness (ice baths, cold plunges, thermal and mineral springs) to wild swimming. Wildly popular in Scotland, wild swimming is available to all brave souls on the morning of November 8, led by renowned leaders in this incredible arena. Biohacking, longevity, spa, reimagined hospitality, mental wellness and much more are on the agenda, along with the networking and deal-making for which the Summit is known.
This is an opportunity to take advantage of it all. Register today before the final price increase on October 1. Seating is limited and you don’t want to miss being part of A Watershed Moment for Wellness.
With gratitude for your support and excitement about the future we will shape together,
Susie Ellis + Nancy Davis
P.S. We always use Timeshifter when we travel, and we recommend you do as well. Thank you Timeshifter for gifting an annual subscription to all registered delegates.
