Join us for a transformative 40-minute “walkshop” led by renowned economist Thierry Malleret and his wife Mary Anne Malleret, exploring the redemptive and healing power of nature. A “walkshop” is a workshop conducted while walking, and as they illuminated in their 2017 book, Ten Good Reasons to Go for a Walk, “Walkshops make us more creative…and more original in our thinking.” This unique experience will take place in the scenic natural setting of St. Andrews, perfect for immersing yourself in the beauty and tranquility of the outdoors. During this enriching experience and discover the profound connection between nature and wellbeing while discussing a range of topics from the economic impact of the climate crisis to coming shifts in the global economy.

About Thierry and Mary Anne Malleret

Thierry Malleret is the founder and managing partner of Monthly Barometer. He researches and writes the Wellness Barometer distributed to key members of the Global Wellness Institute’s community. Thierry has decades of unique professional experience spanning investment banking in London & Moscow; think tanks and academia in New York & Oxford & government including a three-year spell in the Prime Minister’s office in Paris. At the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Thierry founded and headed the Global Risk Network and for a number of years was responsible for the program of the annual meeting at Davos. In 2015 Thierry also founded the Summit of Minds. These high-level meetings combine hard thinking on major macro issues and the importance of personal wellbeing and the power of nature.

An Oxford graduate, Mary Anne’s first career was in the art world (London, Paris and New York). 1991 to 1998 she worked for HM King Charles III (London). Mary Anne is Creative Director at Summit of Minds (Chamonix), that combines hard thinking on key macro issues & the importance of personal wellbeing & the power of nature. She contributes to & edits the Wellness Barometer distributed by GWI. Mary Anne’s list of what really matters is topped by family & friends: Thierry and her four daughters, nature, both in the mountains and her garden and her persistent attempts to become a better painter.
