100 Years of The Glorious Playground
In their landmark 100th year, they celebrate a century of the Glorious Playground! Going into 2024 as a multi-award-winning estate, they reflect on their history, spanning high times and wartimes, and look toward the next 100 years alongside their inaugural Edinburgh home, Gleneagles Townhouse. When Gleneagles first opened its doors in 1924, this magnificent countryside estate in the heart of Scotland was described as a “Riviera in the Highlands”. From the 1955 Dior fashion show hosted by Christian Dior in the grand Ballroom, to the endless iconic faces who have walked through our doors, including Harrison Ford, Bob Hope and many Royals, this year they celebrate 100 years of glamour and good times at Gleneagles. Their jubilant celebrations include a special Centenary Afternoon Tea, the addition of a grueling 100km Centenary Challenge Race and our glamorous Centenary Ball. Exciting commemorations include a beautiful coffee table book entitled ‘Stories from the Glorious Playground’ and an exclusive collaboration with Barbour.
