Saturday, November 2 – Monday, November 4 (2 nights) | Starting point in Edinburgh

DAY 1 – Saturday, 2 November

9:00am Depart Edinburgh for the Highlands, driving through the heart of the Cairngorm Mountain Range
11:00am Arrive in Aviemore, outdoor Highland activities such as clay pigeon shooting, hiking and archery.
Lunch included
4:00pm Arrive in Inverness, panoramic tour on arrival Dinner and overnight at the Ness Walk Hotel

DAY 2 – Sunday, 3 November

9:00am Cruise on Loch Ness including visit to Castle Urquhart
1:00pm Lunch in Inverness City
3:00pm Optional visit to Culloden Battlefield or time at leisure for shopping in Inverness
7:00pm Scottish Evening at McGregors Bar

DAY 3 – Monday,  4 November

9:00am Depart for St Andrews, arriving for
12:00pm Conference check-in

 

Pre-Summit Trip Details

Rothiemurchus & Aviemore

Breaking up the journey between Edinburgh and Inverness with a stop for lunch in beautiful Rothiemurchus & the heart of the Highlands, Aviemore. The Cairngorms National Park is the UK’s largest national park, protecting the beauty of this area in perpetuity.

Guests will enjoy some traditional outdoor pursuits in this stunning location followed by a hearty lunch before continuing to the capital of the Highlands, Inverness.

Ness Walk Hotel

Ness Walk is a stunning 5-star hotel located on the riverside in the city centre of the Highland capital city of Inverness. Newly opened in summer 2020 therefore the property is immaculate in presentation and beautifully designed to the highest level of detailing.

A boutique hotel with 47 bedrooms including 2 suites. The 45 bedrooms have floor to ceiling windows on the 1st and 2nd floors and the Cedar rooms on the ground floor have doors into the gardens with their own little patio terrace and garden furniture.

Loch Ness

Enigmatic and mysterious, guests will enjoy a cruise on Loch Lomond, cameras at the ready in case the notoriously shy monster makes an appearance! Includes a visit to historically important Castle Urquhart.

Once one of Scotland’s largest castles, Urquhart saw great conflict during its 500 years as a medieval fortress. During Its 500 Years As A Medieval Fortress.

Culloden Battlefield

Scene of the last great battle on British soil in 1746, guests can enjoy an interactive and immersive exhibition about the battle before walking the eerily quiet grounds where the Jacobite Rebellion came to a tragic end.                                                                         Lasting barely an hour, over 1,500 men were slain and the history of the Highlands was changed forever.

Highland Whisky Experience at Macgregor’s Bar

MacGregor’s Bar is the proud winner of Best Bar in Scotland – twice! Renowned for its brilliant traditional music, mouth-watering food and local craft beers, MacGregor’s Bar is an authentic Highland experience, one for locals and visitors to share together.
